Admission/registration at UJF does not give automatic access to a room in a hall of residence. The number of students in Grenoble far exceeds the number of rooms available in student residences managed by the CROUS (accommodation office).
Ouest hall of residence
The following are eligible to apply to a hall of residence: - Foreign students admitted to IUT1 - Engineering School students - Beneficiaries of a French government study bursary - Students admitted to Master 1 or 2 - Students admitted to the third year of a Bachelor's degree programme if their second year was completed in France - PhD students (depending on how their thesis is financed) - Exchange programme students
First year students are not eligible for halls of residence and are advised to find private accommodation.
Berlioz hall of residence
Students coming for an internship in an organisation or research laboratory for a shorter period than an academic year : Ask the CROUS for accommodation as a passager (temporary resident) about one month before your arrival.
Pôle Logement - Service Accueil des Etudiants Etrangers
