As a major university in the fields of science, technology and healthcare and recognised in all of the major international rankings, the UJF trains more than 19,000 students throughout 15 educational departments in Grenoble and Valence.
Through its engineering school (Polytech’Grenoble) and its University Institute of Technology (IUT1 Grenoble), the UJF is at the forefront of development of the highly important technology sector. Over 6,000 students attend these two institutions and more than 4,000 students are enrolled in health related courses (Medicine and Pharmacy).

- a tutoring system as part of the Passing the Bachelor's Degree (Réussite en Licence) programme
- a "Fresh start" (Nouveau départ) semester
- reorientation over the course of the year for healthcare students

- a pathway to Polytech Engineering Schools
